Policies & Procedures

  • Reservations

To help ensure your desired appointment time, we recommend scheduling your appointment as far in advance as possible to ensure availability. A credit card is required when booking to guarantee your reservation and accommodate your desired appointment time. Gift Certificates may also be used in lieu of a credit card to hold your appointment. We hold this information as part of our cancellation policy and only make necessary charges to your account on the date of your scheduled service. Details of our cancellation policy are provided below.

*Please notify us of any allergies or sensitivities to aromas or ingredients when you schedule your appointment.

  • Arrival Time

Please arrive for your appointment 10 minutes before the scheduled starting time. This allows you the time to fill out the appropriate client form (new clients), change, and prepare for the service. All treatment sessions have a specific schedule, and early arrival allows for a relaxed and unhurried experience. If late arrival is inevitable, your service may be shortened to keep on schedule, and the original treatment time will be charged.

  • Cancellations and Fees

Your therapy times are reserved exclusively for you. We value your business and request that you please respect the office scheduling policies. Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

Any cancellations with less than 24 hours of notice are subject to a fee of $50. Clients who miss their appointments without giving any prior notification (no-show) will be charged in full for the scheduled service. We recognize the time of our clients and staff is valuable. Therefore, we have implemented this policy for that reason. When you miss an appointment with us, our therapists lose your business and the potential business of other clients who could have scheduled an appointment for the same time. Additionally, our staff will often be in an “on-call” status and may have traveled to the office specifically for your service.

All services require a credit card or gift certificate to guarantee a reservation, so please have your credit card and/or gift certificate ready when booking. You will not be billed unless there is a cancellation or no-show. Upon checkout, guests may choose to pay with either cash or check.

  • Late Arrivals

All treatment sessions have a specific schedule. Therefore, we regret that late arrivals may not receive an appointment extension. In exceptional cases, and when our schedule will allow, we can accommodate a partial or full appointment. This will be at our discretion and only with proper, advanced notification of your late arrival. The original reservation fee will be charged.

  • No Shows

We understand that unanticipated events occur in everyone’s life. Unforeseen events, such as car problems, business meetings, and children’s illnesses, are just a few reasons to cancel a massage appointment. However, we ask that you call if you cannot keep your appointment. Clients who miss appointments without prior notification may be charged the total price for the scheduled service. Repeated no-shows will result in prepayment or failure to book future appointments.

  • Gift Certificates

If redeeming a gift certificate, please provide it when booking and reserving treatment times. Expired gift certificates will be honored but at a reduced rate. 10% per month past the expiration date will be deducted from the total of the gift certificate, and the balance will be due upon service redemption. Gift Certificates are nontransferable.

  • Informed Consent

Before each massage session, the treatment plan will be discussed with you. At your first visit with us, you will be asked to sign the treatment consent form stating that you have read the information, understand it, and agree to comply with the professional massage therapy policies and procedures. Clients we have not seen for at least a year may also be asked to complete this form again.

  • Scope of Practice

We are North Carolina licensed professionals and are held to the highest standards of the NC Board of Massage & Bodywork Therapy. Massage Therapy is a profession in which the practitioner applies manual techniques and may apply adjunctive therapies to positively affect the health and well-being of the client.

Licensed Massage Therapists do not diagnose or prescribe for medical conditions. We may refer you to a medical doctor for diagnosis or treatment. Services offered are not intended as an alternative to proper medical attention for specific conditions. Please refer to a medical doctor for any specific condition which requires medical treatment.

  • Respect for Client Needs and Boundaries

Massage Therapists are happy to adjust pressure, temperature, and musical volume, work longer on an area, or move on if you request it.

The client may choose to leave on as much clothing as needed for comfort, refuse any massage methods, or stop the massage at any time.

The client will always be modestly draped. Only the area being massaged will be undraped. The client will be kept informed of the area to be massaged.

Sexual interaction or discussion of any kind between the client and the massage therapist is NEVER appropriate. If such were to occur, it is at the complete discretion of the therapist to end the session without further explanation. Full payment of reserved service is required.

  • Confidentiality and Conversation

All client visits and conditions are confidential. As such, we won't be able to discuss your visit with anybody outside our staff without your permission.

You may choose to talk or not talk during the massage. The client’s direction will guide the conversation.

  • Existing and New Medical Conditions

The client is responsible for informing the massage therapist of any medical treatment currently being taken and providing written permission from the physician, chiropractor, physical therapist, etc., that massage may be continued.

The client must also inform the massage therapist of any changes in health conditions.

For clients undergoing chemo and radiation therapies, please note that we require a note from your doctor stating that they are aware of and agree to the desired treatment(s).
